I’m appreciate everything Jowful BF does to help all of us raise more BF’s. These inexpensive tents allow them to metamorphosis or overwinter safely!! So glad they do these things!!
The short peg racks are sturdy, easy to clean, and hold lots of tubes for the milkweed. I’m always pleased with the ease of ordering products here, and the timely delivery.
I was able to transfer 8 caterpillars , 7 have evolved in into chrysalis stage, one has emerged and launched. One is still munching away on Milkweed.
I love this store! Tony has everything I need for the monarch season (including so much helpful information), the prices are fantastic, and shipping is so fast!! Thank you, Tony!!
Received just in time to rear two caterpillars, worked great!
These short peg racks are sure to please all Monarch caterpillar raising parents . The short pegs do not allow your little buddies to form a chrysalis on the pegs. This is of great raising value and a good addition to your Monarch supplies.
First time I have bought one of these net cages. Butterflies seem all right . Released one today and one where the caterpillar had lived in a fish tank. Previously released 5 from fish tanks that seemed acceptable to the caterpillars. So cannot decide yet if it was a necessary purchase.
Hi Stephanie, mesh cage provide better air flow and they're more portable...that's why we use them. happy raising!
Well made, zippers from either side and it's well made because I use the zipper several times every day. I also bought the mat for the bottom which I still cover with paper towels to protect the mat, but also to make daily clean up quicker. the mesh prevents the smallest of creatures from getting in and allows for air flow. After the last chrysalis ecloses, it allows for thorough gentle hosing down because of strong but flexible structure.
My son and granddaughter love this book. Great information as they are raising about 7 monarchs to date in the mesh cage. Thank you.
Vi am very pleased with my butterfly cages, poopoo platters and small hole caps for floral tubes.
This is my 2nd purchase of the big baby cage. I like the size of it and how easy it is to move. My only gripe with the newer cage is that the handles are in front & back. So it hangs over the opening/draw bridge and it's a little annoying. My older cage, the handles are on the sides of the cage which I like much better. But either way, it keeps my monarchs safe and happy!
hi Holly, we put the handles over the top of the cage....caterpillars often form chrysalides under them to feel more protected. That way, they also won't be in the way when opening the cage. happy raising!
One of the tube arrived cracked. They were unable to send me a single tube replacement, so they just credited me $2.
Love my cages and equipment. Easily accessed, easily cleaned, easy to keep track of stages of monarchs.
The poo poo platters are a fantastic idea for cleaning grass out of mesh cages and I've been really happy with them! Also want to say that I've ordered mesh cages and supplies from other sources, but Tony's are the best I've found! Highly recommend getting your supplies here.
New poo poo platter design much easier to remove from short cages. Smooth surface keeps smaller instars fro getting under edge or racks.
Bought two cages for my wife's butterflies. She loves them. Great size and they work perfectly. Good quality too. No issues.
A great place to purchase all of the supplies needed for raising monarch butterflies in a one stop shop. Shipping was very fast.
Monarchs surprised me this year by arriving earlier. Help! I ordered my usual supplies which came on the 2nd day. So I had plenty of time to prepare for my yearly raising.
Well built and as described
I love the small size of the baby cube. The Fall harvest is usually smaller than Spring and this smaller cube is just the right size. I highly recommend it.

Very satisfied with the racks, tubes & butterfly habitats (I prefer that instead of cages)!
We distributed those items in a kit for the 30 participants @our Monarch Workshop
@Tanglewood Nature Center, Big Flats, NY
The Workshop was Saturday 7/27/24 from
10 - 12pm. After the PowerPoint presentation we went into the fields filled with milkweed to find a monarch egg.
Goal is to help participants identify eggs, plus provide tools to raise them.
Not a good year..only harvested 6 eggs.!
Last year, every person had an egg or even larva.🐛😊
Last year, I had the opportunity to raise a combined 20 eggs & caterpillars, tag 6 on Monarch watch & release in my front yard!
Priceless..🦋
nice idea to keep the caterpillars off the ‘floor’ of the basket; easier to keep clean.
