The netted cage was perfect and I raised about 20 monarchs! I don’t think the tubes and yellow holder added anything though.
Excited to use this season. Delivered quickly as pictured.
This was a terrific find for me, I could put 3 or 4 milkweed plants in there without any problem. I raised 30 monarchs— and it saved me a whole ton of work and time!
I have a potted milkweed plant which is slightly too tall, most of its leaves are up against the ceiling. But my caterpillars don't seem to mind! I have about 15 caterpillars in there now and they seem to be thriving. This is my first time rearing these creatures and I found this website to be a great resource of information.
The only thing I might recommend is to put a little stronger zipper on it.
Received everyting quickly and 100% correct. I have caterpillars in the cage at this time.
Haven’t used them yet. Am waiting for my butterflies to arrive. They are usually late. It I did have about 7 eastern black swallowtails arrive after overwintering in the garage. I’m sure I will love them. This is my first time using them.
The cage is perfect and I learned how to identify caterpillars that are ready to move to the next phase on my milkweed plants. I eventually had 9 in the cage and all went to Chrysalis stage one by one. There was plenty of room for them. This morning one was "born" and it was a female. I waited for her wings to dry and moved her to my porter weed bushes in the yard.
The cage is big enough for a milkweed plant at the bottom which we had in there while waiting that extra day for the caterpillars to become chrysalises and the cage is easy to clean. We'll wait for the others to hatch and take wing, then start over with another group after a thorough cleaning.
I love the whole idea of being able to rescue catepillars from the wild, protect them from insects and see them turn into beautiful butterflies in their protected and netted invironment. I hatched 9 last month and now am waiting to see more here during the summer. Thank you for your heipful information!
A good lid if you only want to use a single cutting! Nice option.
Have not used yet as my butterflies are not present yet. This will be my first year using these. So hope they do the job. Came pretty quickly.
They worked great!
Small hole caps are just what I need to keep developing cats from eggs safe. These are great and shipped so quickly.
Last year was my first experience with the poo poo platter and I was amazed at how quickly cleanup went and how I could remove and replace the platter with no struggling as it fit perfectly and created very little disturbance in the cage.
Haven’t begun to use but all look to be in perfect condition.
